This weekend the boys decided to make the trip to Elbow Lake to fish for some walleye. Going through the river was fun but the water was very low. Not for the faint of heart. The following pictures are from that trip on June 21 & 22.
Dave, Len and Diesel checking out the lay of the land around our campsite. This was after I hauled most of the stuff up to the camp.
Len and Diesel taking a break on what was a very nice day.
Dave and his first walleye of the day before technical difficulties put him in a bad mood!
A view of our filleting table and camping supplies
When at Elbow Lake we stay at the Chez la Tent..This was our accommodations on the island...well mine and dave's
Len finally pitched in and started cooking. I was glad because I really didn't want to cook. Mind you I didn't do much that night. Nice Job Len
After we had a camp meeting it was decided that we would kick len out of the tent so just like on Survivor he had to spend the night alone on the Northern Shield. Actually it was so hot out that he decided to camp outside.
In all my years I could not believe that there were not bugs out....
A great night to go camping.
Diesel had a blast checking out the island.
Dave sleeping standing up....just kidding! On his way to get the kettle off the fire.
Dave definitely won the weekend by catching this 27" Walleye. It put up a good fight and was worthy of this picture.
Dave and Bart giving the "Thumbs up" to a great weekend of camping.
